2TellMe – says what you write, LJP 1.2
Welcome to 2TellMe
Do you know it? You won some Ebay auctions and now you’re going to enter article numbers, account numbers, bank numbers in to your Palm using Graffiti? A lot of numbers to read from the desktop monitor and enter into your Palm. Or you got some phone numbers to write down. Whenever it comes to enter many numbers using Graffiti you will probably found it quite difficult to look at the Graffiti field to correctly write the digit, to look at the screen to check the digit for being correctly recognized and sometimes even look on a third place to read the next digit to enter. Very exhausting indeed.
Now this has an end. My new creation, called 2TellMe, will give you a feedback for each digit you’ve entered
using Graffiti. Have a look at v1.0 here and wait for v1.1 which comes in some days.
Now to LJP: I’ve made v1.2 of LJP with hires gfx (thx to coder12), an optional phone call detection mode and some other small things. Get it from here as zip or tar.gz. I mainly release it now because today arrived my Wiimote and I’m trying to add support for it. Important work for it was done by laddspencer. Now I will try to fit it into LJP – let’s see how it works. Have an Wiimote? Check this thread for more.
Enjoy,
Henk

LJP (Multi console emulator for Palm OS) 1.1 released
Yes, LJP 1.1 is out. It mainly fixes things like:
- screen buttons (in the 4 screen corners) on Treo or Centro didn’t work
- some games on SNES didn’t work because of the multi-adapter emulation, it’s optional now
- in Genesis the 6 button joypad didn’t work, there is now an option to select between 3 or 6 button
- the volume increments when using the Treo’s or Centro’s volume buttons where too big
- the name of the currently selected game wasn’t readable because of wrong UI colors
As usual you can download a zip or a tar.gz file.
Also, I’ve released version 2.2 of 2LaunchMe, which is a great hotkey application launcher and online traffic counter for your Treo or Centro smartphone. The traffic counter also works on other Palm OS devices. Check it out at pdassi or mobihand.
BTW: Did you already nominate one o my apps for the PalmAddict Reader Awards 2008? No? Well I would very appreciate it 🙂
Funny enough, today I’ve release another version 2.2. This time it is an update for the WintecTool. If you plan to buy a GPS device and ever thought about having it track your route too (in addition to the standard routing stuff) the Wintec 201 might be something for you. At least the WintecTool is great for saving the track log to your Palm and convert it into a google map html file on the go.
Did you try PalmBuzzer? No? Well you should 🙂 It’s real fun. Download it here, add Wave-Sound files as you which and become a little musician.
Finally I want to mention FreaQs. Handmade leather covers for your Palm, Treo or Centro. You can find them here and I personally use on for my Treo since march and I’m still very excited about them. If you need a personal gift for yourself or a friend with a mobile device: it’s really worthwhile to check it out.
What else can you expect soon? 2Cool4U 1.0 is right around the corner. Gimme a couple of days for the last tests and I will release it. Another thing which I will create during the next days is a small tool to toggle static navigation for SiRF GPS devices. It will be base on the phyton scripts here. And finally there was a discussion about using a mobile phone or another Palm as input device for LJP. I will write a 6$ app in the next days, which will do exactly this. Your mobile phone or your Palm will just emulate this rare BT gamepad. You can then use it to control LJP, ZDoomZ, ZHeretic, ZHexen, ZQuake, Duke3D etc.

Help me please
The great palmaddicts website is going to elect the PalmAddict Reader Awards 2008. It would be cool if you could nominate 2Cool4U or 2PlayMe or PalmPDF or whatever you like. I very appreciate it.
To come to something different: At the moment I’m not only write a Palm Calendar -> iCalendar converter (to help some friends with their sync problems) I’ve also wrote (on a public request on Nexave forum) a very cool and entertaining app: PalmBuzzer. It’s not much to say about. Here you can see a short video of an older preview. Now you can set sound to the 4 hardware buttons, to letters and numbers and you can add a picture on top of the window.
These are the naming rules at the moment:
Every file needs to be a WAVE audio file and stored in /PALM/Programs/PalmBuzzer/
- for the 16 on-screen buttons: Test1.wav to Test16.wav
- for the 4 hardware buttons: Hard1.wav to Hard4.wav
- for the letters: Letter_a.wav to Letter_z.wav
- for the numbers: Number_0.wav to Number_9.wav
- for the space key: Space.wav
- for the skin: Test.jpg
Enjoy,
Henk
PS: If you have problems to get the correct colors with the skins in 2Cool4U: It’s a known bug and will be fixed later with 1.0.
EDIT: Look, this is a current video. You might pump up the volume to hear something, sorry.

2Cool4U 0.99, the iPhone(or whatever) look-alike contact scroller
Here it is, the last update before 1.0. Most features are included as I want to have them. I still think I will add one or another for the final 1.0 which you can expect during April.
What’s new in 0.99?
- Come back to 2Cool4U when you finish a call initiated from 2Cool4U
- Incremental search as in the build-in contact app
- SIM card contacts can be included too
- Contact pictures are scaled proportionally
- Default phone number for each contact can be set
- Icons for incoming/outgoing in call log
- Contact can be created from unknown caller ID in call log
You can download it from here as zip or prc.
If you want to use it frequently don’t forget to register (or 2Cool4U will remind you). Until 1.0 isn’t released you can register at a special price on the website which is given in the register dialog inside 2Cool4U (check the menus). After the release of 1.0 I will move the registration process to one of the remaining Palm OS online shops and raise the price to cover the transaction fees.
Happy scrolling,
Henk

Oh my god – I need a mobile flash player
I’ve just read about all South Park videos released for free online watching at http://www.southparkstudios.com/clips/. That’s terrific. Now I really need something to watch it on my Treo. My 15€ prepaid SIM card which I use for online stuff on my Treo (reading and writing emails, looking up websites, chatting on the go) is still not empty (I bought it in October last year and used it frequently since then). Seems I could easily afford some cool online videos from South Park Studios from when waiting for the train.
Ok, who is going for a player?
Greetings, Henk
PS: 2Cool4U 0.99 is in a final test run. You can expect the release in the next days.
